The International Medical University, Malaysia (IMU) is acutely cognizant that rapid advances in technology are influencing healthcare practices. The University keeps up-to-date with these transformations to understand what is required of healthcare professionals in the future.

With insight, International Medical University evolves and innovates its programmes to produce savvy and competitive graduates in this modern age. Every programme incorporates foundational competencies in data science, including core topics such as data value.

In 2020, International Medical University, Malaysia (IMU) was again awarded the SETARA 2019 with a 6-star rating (Highly Competitive) under the Mature University category. The University was also rated a 5-star university by Quacquarelli Symonds (QS) World University Rankings.

In 2017, International Medical University was the first homegrown private University awarded a 6-star rating in Malaysia’s much-coveted Rating for Higher Education Institutions (SETARA). Out of 71 institutions in Malaysia, only International Medical University and seven others made the cut.

In the same year, International Medical University became the only private Malaysian medical University to receive self-accreditation status from the Malaysian Qualifications Agency (MQA). This status entitles a higher education provider to self–accredit specific programmes with a solid and reliable internal quality assurance system.

International Medical University, Malaysia (IMU) encourages critical and innovative thinking through self-directed learning and early contact with patients.

Students spend more time out of lecture halls than in them. Throughout their degree programme, they are exposed to research projects at the Institute for Research, Development & Innovation (IRDI). They also gain extensive hands-on clinical experience through IMU Healthcare’s private clinics and leading hospitals. These build vital clinical skills and help students’ speciality decisions.
