Monash University

Established in 1998, Monash University Malaysia is the third-largest campus of Australia’s largest university and the first foreign university campus in Malaysia. Monash University is a premier research-intensive Australian university ranked among the top 50 universities globally by the Times Higher Education World University Rankings 2023 and a member of Australia’s prestigious Group of Eight (Go8). Monash University is also ranked 57 in the latest QS World University Rankings.

A self-accrediting university, Monash University campus offers a distinctly international and culturally rich environment with approximately 9300 students from more than 79 countries. Students are taught by highly qualified academic staff from across the world, and the same rigorous standards are applied at the campus as at other Monash campuses.

The Academic Board of Monash University is responsible for oversight of the University’s academic affairs, including the maintenance of high standards in education and research. That oversight extends to all of Monash’s campuses in Australia and other nations.  Moreover, the Academic Board applies the same educational quality standards to all Monash degrees, wherever they are taught.  Our graduates receive a testamur awarded by Monash University, regardless of the campus where they complete their degrees.  This oversight extends to Monash degrees that are offered jointly with other universities.

All Monash’s qualifications are quality assured by the Australian Government’s Tertiary Education Quality and Standards Agency and local equivalent accrediting bodies and regulatory agencies in locations. In Malaysia, Monash University is awarded a 6-star SETARA rating by the Ministry of Higher Education Malaysia, cementing it’s position in the very top cohort of outstanding universities in the country.
