Foundation in Communication at Multimedia University is a one-year foundation programme in the media and communication field. It introduces the theories and practice of communication through a learner-centred approach that uses inquiry-based and problem-based learning. The course also builds digital skills for creating digital content and working with relevant software, giving the programme a practical and contemporary focus.
The learning experience is shaped around communication studies, media writing, public speaking, visual communication and digital media applications. It also brings in entrepreneurial thinking and ideas linked to sustainable development, with class activities, projects and assignments reflecting MMU’s wider emphasis on innovation, SDG and ESG themes. As a foundation route, it provides an early academic base for progression into communication-related study.
