Foundation in Arts (Built Environment) at UCSI University is a one-year preparatory programme that introduces students to the built environment before they move on to degree study. It combines a cross-disciplinary foundation with built environment-specific learning, giving early grounding in the ideas and practices that shape architecture, interior architecture and quantity surveying.
The course places emphasis on an integrated, practice-oriented learning experience. Teaching is delivered through lectures, tutorials, computer lab work, team-based projects and independent projects, with input from university lecturers, visiting professors and industry experts. Students also gain early exposure to community and industrial projects, helping them build subject knowledge, creative and critical thinking, and study skills in a supportive environment.
