- Established in 2012 as the Malaysian branch of the University of Southampton UK, a founding member of the Russell Group, invited by the Malaysian Government to establish a campus within EduCity Iskandar.
- Relocated in 2021 to a 150,000 sq ft campus in Eco Galleria, Iskandar Puteri, with capacity for 2,000 students, ranked #87 globally as the top UK university in Malaysia.
- Offers split-campus programmes where students study two years in Malaysia and two years in the UK, or complete degrees fully in Malaysia, originally focused on engineering with expansion to Business, Computer Science, and Economics.
- Engineering programmes rank #1 in the UK for Electrical & Electronic Engineering and top 10 for Mechanical and Aeronautical Engineering, with the first cohort graduating in 2016 with outstanding results.
- Features specialized facilities including an Aerospace Laboratory with subsonic wind tunnel, flight simulator, 12-terminal Bloomberg Suite, and advanced engineering laboratories, with all programmes accredited by MQA and the Board of Engineers Malaysia.
