Overview

The Postgraduate Diploma in Implant Dentistry (PGDID) at IMU is Malaysia’s first and only MQA-accredited programme in implant dentistry. Designed for general dental practitioners, this one-year full-time or two-year part-time programme comprises six modules totaling 30 credit hours. The curriculum is benchmarked against the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh’s Diploma in Implant Dentistry Examination, ensuring international standards. Students receive hands-on training in both surgical and prosthetic aspects of implant dentistry, with opportunities to treat patients at IMU’s Oral Health Centre or their own clinics. The programme emphasizes evidence-based practices, patient-centered care, and the development of competencies in implant planning, placement, and restoration.
