Overview
The PhD in Health Professions Education at IMU is a doctoral research programme designed to develop scholars and leaders in the field of healthcare education. This full-time programme spans three to six years and focuses on advancing knowledge and practice in curriculum design, pedagogy, assessment, leadership, and faculty development in health professions education. Open to those with relevant academic or professional backgrounds, the programme includes structured milestones such as proposal defence, data collection, and thesis submission. Graduates are prepared to contribute to academic institutions, policy-making bodies, and healthcare training environments as researchers and education experts.

Requirements
Qualification | Requirements |

Master’s Degree | A Master’s degree in Health Profession Education, Medical Education or related fields accepted by the HEP Senate; or other qualifications equivalent to a Master’s degree recognised by the Government of Malaysia. Candidates without a related qualification or working experience in Health Professions Education must undergo appropriate prerequisite courses determined by the HEP. |
English Language | – IELTS: Band score of 5.0. – TOEFL (PBT): Overall score of 410-413. – TOEFL (iBT): Overall score of 34. – Cambridge English: Advanced (CAE): Overall score of 160. – Cambridge English: Proficiency (CPE): Overall score of 180. – Pearson Test of English (PTE): Overall score of 36. |
